It's a Great Day to be a Dog

Your best friend. Your adventure dog. Your fur-baby. Whatever you call them, however they found you, the years we spend with our furry family members are precious ones.

There's no better time than today to press paws and capture your new puppy's antics or your senior dogs sweet greying snoot. A photo experience lets you take time out to share an adventure with your dog, celebrate what makes them special, and create timeless images.

Not sure your dog is ready for their closeup? No problem - your pup doesn't need to do anything but be a dog.

Won't sit and stay? We'll keep the leash on and let Photoshop take care of the rest.
Attention span of a squirrel at a rave? I just need 1/500 of a second.
Camera shy? I get it. As the guardian of an anxious rescue pup I know that some dogs need some extra time and space. We'll take things slow in locations where they feel relaxed and comfortable.

Whatever your pup's needs, I'm here to create to a fun and stress-free experience.

Model Calls

I am occasionally looking for dog models for different projects - right now I'm looking for rescue jindos who are available for photos in BC landscapes. To find out more get in touch below.

1. Let's Talk About Your Dog!

Schedule a call so I can learn about your pup and what types of of images you want to take home. Whether it's a close-up of their wonky ear, a shot of them with their favourite tug toy, or an epic landscape, we'll make a plan for your session.

2. Pick the Perfect Location

Where is your dog's happy place? Do they like to splash at the beach, thrive on trails, or are they cool as a cucumber in an urban setting? We'll find a spot that puts them at ease.

3. Time for an Adventure

Your pup gets to be the star of the show, with great smells, delicious treats, and - most importantly - lots of love, attention, and praise from you, their favourite person.

4. Enjoy your Images

You'll receive edited digital photos sized for web and social media. Interested in prints, animated digital artwork, or other custom products? Just let me know.

"Hello. My name is Bokja. I would like a treat."

Hello and Woof!

I'm Kim. I’m a pet photographer currently located in Vancouver, British Columbia. I'm currently soaking up life in East Van, but my heart is split between here, Victoria (where I grew up and attended university) and Whitehorse (where I spent a decade and still love to visit).

My approach is simple - I love creating images that reflect your dog doing what they love to do. I focus on a mix of portraits, candids and action shots in locations where your dog feels safe and engaged. My goal is to create a fun, relaxed experience for both of you.
BC and Yukon are some of the most breathtaking places in the world, and I have a special love of photographing dogs in landscapes, using primarily using natural light.

And at the heart of it all is Bokja, my beloved sofa spud and photography muse. Bokja started life inauspiciously as a meat farm dog. Luckily, a fairy-rescue agency came to her aid and she was magically whisked across an ocean to a strange new land. As so often happens in fairy tales, when she arrived home, her true identity as a princess was finally recognized. She is living happily ever after on her favourite couch.

I had the pleasure of working with Kim for a photo session with my dog Finn and I couldn't be happier with the results! Kim was incredibly patient and was clearly passionate about working with animals. She managed to capture Finn's happy personality in all the shots. I highly recommend Kim to anyone looking for beautiful and natural pet photography.

Inde', Lighthouse Park, West Vancouver

We had a fantastic experience with Kim.  She made us feel completely at ease, which was especially important for my dog who is reactive and can be unpredictable. Her creative eye truly captured my dog’s unique personality in a way that felt natural and authentic. The final photos exceeded my expectations— we couldn’t be happier and we will cherish these memories forever.  We highly recommend Kim for anyone looking for a skilled and thoughtful pet photographer.
